The Ohio Patient Action Network is a sister to the charitable Ohio Patient Network for the purpose of lobbying, at all levels of government, for the therapeutic use of cannabis, as well as for or against existing or proposed legislation that involves therapeutic cannabis, and to engage in any other lawful purpose which the directors may approve.

The OPAN President and I take this opportunity to present the bill to you, the Patients of Ohio, as it is the culmination of all your input, advice, and thoughts as well. As Chair of the Bill Committee, I gathered all the good advice you gave me and, where possible, incorporated it into this bill. This bill will not cover every eventuality, Patient, and/or circumstance. No single bill could do that and pass the Legislative process. However, it does incorporate significant advantages that no other state has managed to accomplish so far. |

On May 16, U.S. Representatives John Olver (D-MA) and Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) sent a "Dear Colleague" letter to all Members of the House of Representatives urging co-signatures on a letter addressed to DEA Administrator Karen Tandy, urging acceptance of DEA Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Mary Ellen Bittner's February 2007 Opinion and Recommended Ruling in support of the UMass-Amherst Medical Marijuana Research Production Facility. |
